Vegetarians can have eggs and dairy products, especially plain yogurt with live active cultures, as well as items on the vegan list.

Water is the best beverage of all to help rehydrate the body, keep skin clear and supple, reduce headaches, and flush out toxins. A great morning “body flush” is to drink a glass of warm water with a tablespoon of lemon juice and a packet of artificial sweetener mixed in.

Herbal teas are also good to help flush out toxins and rehydrate the body. There are many varieties of herbal teas on the market now, so one should never feel deprived or bored when giving up sugary drinks. Have them hot or iced, plain or with a packet of artificial sweetener.

Sweeteners on the Candida Diet

All no calorie artificial sweeteners are allowed on the candida diet plan; Splenda, Equal, Sweet n’ Low, etc. There’s a lot of conflicting information about the safety of artificial sweeteners as many believe that it causes health problems. Use your judgment here and see how you feel after having it. The most common side-effects are headache, feeling thirsty, and an increase in carbohydrate cravings.

Fats on the Candida Diet

Always use fats in moderation as they’re very high in calories. Safe oils are olive oil, flaxseed oil, coconut oil, grape seed oil, and canola oil. Butter and avocados are also allowed on the diet. Make a healthy butter spread by adding one cup of olive oil to one cup of softened butter. Mix until smooth and store in the refrigerator in a bowl with lid.

Foods that Help Kill Candida

To give recipes extra candida-killing power, be sure to add garlic, onions, oregano and lemon juice.

Supplements that Help Kill Candida

Flaxseed, fish oil supplements, graprefruit seed extract, fiber supplements such as oat bran or psyllium husk. It is suggested to use as directed on package labels.
